Вводные глаголы в косвенной речи
Reporting Verbs
Для косвенной речи существует много вводных глаголов, которые четко передаю смысл утверждения, вопроса, просьбы, инструкции и т.д.
1. Verbs + to-infinitive
1.1. Promise – обещать
‘I will take care of the dog,’ she said. – She promised to take care of the dog.
1.2. Refuse – отказывать
‘No, I won’t help her,’ he said. – He refused to help her.
1.3. Offer – предлогать
‘Can I get you some apples,’ he said. – He offered some apples.
2. Verbs + somebody + to-infinitive
2.1. Advise – советовать
‘You should drink a lot of water,’ he said. – He advised me to drink a lot of water.
2.2. Ask – просить
‘Please, help me to do homework,’ said David. – David asked to help him to do homework.
2.3. Beg – просить
‘Please, please, listen to me,’ said sister. – Sister begged me to listen to her.
2.4. Order – приказать
‘Don’t shout!’ said he. – He ordered me not to shout.
2.5. Warn – предупреждать
‘Don’t go there,’ said he. – He warned me not to go there.
Verb + ing form
Suggest – предлагать
‘Shall we go to the cinema?’ said she. – She suggested going to the cinema.
